My dad makes fun of me, but in the playful sort of way that makes it look okay. He say things like "well don't you look nice today" just to let me know he disproves of the tights I'm wearing or the color on my nails. It sounds so sweet and loving, like a father should be, but if you were in the room it would be clear to you that this bitter, sarcastic dig only sounds like a compliment. He isn't terrible. He's not that bad at all. I love him I really do and he loves me, that's what I keep telling myself.
